Tony "Sparx" Palermo performs and records professionally. You can hire him as a Sound Effects Artist for your on-stage, on-air, or in-studio show. While he is based in Los Angeles, California, he can travel anywhere, and has--performing across the U.S. and across the world.

Tony has done over 2500 radio shows since 1996, working with L.A. Theatre Works, Norman Corwin, C.A.R.T's Peggy Webber, Monty Python's Eric Idle, BBC's Dirk Maggs, RTE's Roger Gregg, the Geffen Playhouse, the Pasadena Playhouse, National Audio Theater Festivals, and dozens of shows available on Audible and iTunes.

Tony has an extensive collection of mechanical sound effects devices--doors, floors, wind & rain machines, creakers, glass scratches, crash boxes, telephones of various eras, and more. Plus, he's a professional sound designer, both creating and triggering pre-recorded sounds on-stage--in addition to his mechanical SFX duties.

He learned his craft from the original old-time radio SFX artists who'd worked with Orson Welles, Jack Benny, and Jack Webb.

He also conducts drama production workshops--directing troupes performing his original radio plays.

You can also hire Tony to perform his Sparx Audio Extravaganza assembly presentations about the use of sound effects in radio, film and TV. He's done hundreds of these presentations at schools, colleges, museums, libraries, even the California State Fair.

Additionally, Tony licenses productions of his original plays, musical scores, and sound design recordings. See his listing of available shows.
